Mexican series, The Accident, is now streaming on Netflix. My blog will usher light on its final episode and the ending scenes.

At the end of episode 9, the story makes a grand revelation that it was Lupita who had hired Barroso aka Eulogio Pinto to kill Moncho.

The Accident Ending Explained and Episode 10 Recap

Barroso meets Lupita at her son’s grave and asks her for more money. The lady reminds him of their primary deal in which he had agreed to a one-time payment, which had already been made.

However, he insists on more money citing an empty bank account as the reason. While talking, he picks up an apple from the fruit basket Lupita has brought along.

She tells him that it will take a couple of days to arrange more money. Moreover, once he gets it, he must disappear forever.

Barroso agrees and leaves the cemetery while biting the apple in his hand.

Emiliano and Daniela have an emotional conversation, one without confrontation. They talk about the pain of losing their son and learning to live with it.

He mentions the article written by Carla and how she didn’t mention anything about her husband who was actually the one to convince Emiliano to not turn himself in.

Further, Emiliano talks about missing Daniela’s warmth and embrace in the past month. However, he thinks that she has the right to move on and choose a better life for herself.

Carla, on the other hand, pays Yola the promised money, ending their association.

At the office, Emiliano confronts his partners about the idea of involving Charro in their business. But Charro comes and breaks the news to him that David and Javier have already decided.

Consequently, he is forced to quit the company he had built with blood and sweat.

Lucia tells her mother the truth about Alex, from not having to do anything with drugs to going to jail to save her.

Further, she confesses to being a drug addict for years. Daniela feels ashamed and guilty for not being able to address Lucia’s drug issues.

She blames herself for the fiasco. Moreover, Daniela asks Lucia about the person who sells her the drugs, and the latter names Nico, her ex.

Their conversation is interrupted by the doorbell. Daniela gets to the door to find Alex, who begs her to meet Lucia.

Since she is now aware of the truth, Daniela welcomes him inside. She also apologizes to Alex for her behavior earlier.

Paula’s mother brings the pastor home, who tells Fabian that the Catholic Church has been following Paula’s miraculous return very closely.

He asks for every detail about her ordeal so that he can send it to the Vatican and confirm that the Virgin performed a miracle on the little girl.

However, Fabian doesn’t agree. He strongly believes that Paula did what any other human being would have done in her place.

She must have drunk water from the river and eaten something to survive.

Fabian asks the father to leave. Roxana and Fabian start arguing and the former brings the matter of Paula’s custody.

The girl overhears her and asks about the same. Roxana explains it to her in simple terms and leaves the house.

The cops find Barroso’s body in his car. But how did he die?

How Did Barroso (Eulogio Pinto) Die in The Accident?

Pinto met Lupita in the cemetery and asked for more money. Meanwhile, he ate an apple from her fruit basket.

The apple he ate was poisoned by Lupita beforehand. It was a part of her plan to kill Barroso.

By the time he sat in his car, the poison began showing its effect and he passed away.

Lupita then cleverly took away his phone and the apple to ensure the cops didn’t find any evidence.

Santos calls Yola to the police station and tells her about Barroso’s death.

Daniela is also present while the two talk. When Santos goes outside, Daniela promises Yola that she will find the person who hired Barroso to kill Moncho.

Lupita promises Alex that she will make things right.

Charro tells Ulises that he wants to see Emiliano behind bars. In return, he will pay him as much money as he wants.

The attorney promises him to do everything he can before leaving the place.

David and Carla again quarrel over each other’s fallacies. He mistakenly admits to having slept with Lupita.

Carla tells him how she saved his ass by not mentioning his name in her article. David is angry at her for publishing the article in the first place.

He thinks it will harm their business with the Americans.

The scene moves to Lucia’s school, where Daniela and Fonseca arrest Nicolas. They find drugs in his pockets, making their case strong.

At the breakfast table, Lucia promises her parents that she will never do drugs again. She also agrees to go to a rehab center.

Ulises arrives at their house and arrests Emiliano, citing his earlier violent trespass on Charro’s property while he was on bail.

Daniela sides with her husband saying it was Charro who had first violently entered their home and hurt Lucia.

But Ulises says that his hands are tied and takes Emiliano to the prison.

David and Javier call Charro to the office for an emergency meeting. They inform him that during the excavation for the foundation of the amusement park, the workers found historical remains.

Initially, Charro takes it lightly. However, soon the two partners tell him that the deal with the Americans is off since the federal laws are very strict in this regard.

Charro gets agitated and talks about bribing people in the government. Javier says that he has already told the Americans and they are ready to revoke the contract without any loss to anyone.

With the deal gone, Charro also lashes out of their office.

Some days later, Emiliano’s court hearing begins. Javier appears for him while Ulises acts as the prosecution attorney.

Both of them put forward their cases and try to convince the judge. While Javier plays on the emotional and unintentional side of the case, Ulises focuses on facts.

An interesting fact Javier puts forward is that the intensity of the wind that day was so unusual that nothing like it had ever happened in the country’s history.

Eventually, the judge sentences Emiliano to two years in custody.

Emiliano doesn’t resent the verdict and happily accepts it. He is then lodged in the prison in the company of several dangerous criminals.

Afterward, Daniela goes to Yola’s house and hands over her and her kids’ US passports. She says even though Emiliano is in jail, he wanted to do this for her children.

One of Yola’s kids comes running to meet Daniela and tells her that he dreamt about Rodrigo the other night.

Daniela gives him Rodrigo’s precious tablet as a parting gift.

At Fabian’s house, Roxana is about to take away Paula after she has filed for custody. However, to her surprise, Paula insists on staying with her father.

The little girl says she likes Fabian’s company and all that he does for her.

Later, Fabian takes Paula to the place where she was found alive after the accident.

They offer flowers at the statue of the Virgin and Paula vows to never talk about the incident ever again.

She wants to keep it as her secret and not do any more interviews. Moreover, the girl wishes for her friends to see her as a normal person.

David and Carla fight once again. They verbally abuse each other. After the quarrel, David receives a call from Charro.

He informs him that the Americans have agreed to rethink the project. Hence, he asks David to meet at the project site, saying Javier is on his way too.

David reaches the site and meets Charro, who tells him that Javier has gone to get some documents.

While they talk, Charro takes him to a corner and circles the discussion around David sleeping with his wife.

Even though David apologizes to him time and again, Charro doesn’t stop poking. Eventually, he shoots him point blank.

Charro’s men bury David’s body nearby.

When David doesn’t return home for the night, Carla gets worried and asks around for him. However, nobody has any clue.

She even puts up posters of her husband across the city. However, many believe that he has left town but in reality, he is dead.

In a surprising twist, the cops, led by Daniela, arrest Charro for the murder of Moncho and Barroso (Eulogio Pinto).

But why? Daniela reveals that they have found bank transfer receipts in Barroso’s car from Charro’s account.

This establishes that he had paid Barroso to kill Moncho and when he asked for more money, he even killed him.

But how did this happen?

Did Charro Hire Barroso to Kill Moncho?

No. It was his wife instead. When Lupita killed Barroso, she planted a printout of the transactions between her and Barroso in his car.

However, all the while, she had paid him from Charro’s bank account. It was her plan to hit two targets with one bullet.

Not only did she kill Barroso, but she also succeeded in framing Charro for Moncho’s murder.

Looking at it from another perspective, it was the only way for Lupita and his son to start afresh.

Javier tells his wife that he has booked an appointment with a specialist to reverse the vasectomy.

It is his attempt to save their marriage and fulfill his wife’s aspiration of having another child.

Daniela meets Emiliano in the prison and tells him about the amusement park project.

The latter laughs at himself since the project was the reason behind his mistake that caused the accident.

Daniela calls it poetic justice. She also forgives him for the accident as everybody makes mistakes. Moreover, Daniela cannot imagine a life without Emiliano.

Alex and Lucia’s relationship continues to thrive in the absence of Charro. She attends all the meetings of rehab and seems to be in a healthy space.

Charro is lodged in the same prison as Emiliano. They come face to face for a meal, where Charro threatens to kill him.

However, Emiliano calmly responds with impactful words. He tells him that he is in jail for remorse while Charro is in because of hate.

The series ends here.

Was David Ever Found?

No, David’s body was never found until the end of the series. The only way his body can be found is when there is an excavation at the project site.

However, the project is dead. But since historical traces were found there, it is highly possible that the state would initiate an excavation.

How Did the Kids Die in The Accident Series?

The kids died because a fiery wind took away the jumping house they were playing in. While some managed to get off it, three couldn’t make it.

Moncho, the Lobo family’s helper, was tasked with taking care of the jumping house.

Emiliano sent Moncho to get ice and took the task of hammering one of the stakes in his hands. Just when he was about to use the hammer, he received a call from his American clients.

He rushed to get his partners and went inside his house, forgetting about the stake and the jumping house.

Is it Right to Blame Emiliano for the Accident?

No, it was an accident. Even if Emiliano had hammered the stake, the wind was so intense that it would have still taken the jumping house with itself.
