The first episode of the Koran series ended with some crucial information about the parasites.

Moreover, the episode contained things like the arrival of the Larva, the introduction of lead characters, and Team Grey.

Let’s now head to the second part.

Parasyte: The Grey: Episode 2 Recap

Seol Kang-woo sells his watch for a fair price and uses the money to buy a new phone, and bike, and settle some dues with his bank.

The bike seller rats him out to Yeongdeungpo guys and a long chase ensues. Eventually, Kang-woo manages to leave them behind.

He calls his friend, Kyu-min, and asks for help in the form of money and other things. He asks about someone named Jong-do but his relevance is not made clear in the second episode.

Kang-woo fixes a meeting with his friend for 9 PM at the gas station and then goes to the Saejin church where the Parasites are to gather for a meeting.

Choi Jun-kyung gets a stack of files to scour for relevant cases.

Detective Chul-min pays Su-in a visit at her workplace. Both have a conversation and the cop manages to get hold of one of her hair strands.

But contrary to what Jun-kyung had said in her briefing, Su-in’s hair strand doesn’t do anything strange. It satisfies the detective’s soul.

While they talk, the girl experiences a sensation in her head like before. She turns around to find a probable parasite looking at her.

But she ignores him. Chul-min gives her a keychain as a parting gift before leaving the place.

In the evening, Su-in is confronted by Kang-woo’s elder sister and the strange man from episode 1.

They tell her that the pastor wants to meet her as he is startled by her ability to imitate a human’s countenance.

The trio reaches the church and Kang-woo is surprised to see Su-in there despite his warning earlier on.

Inside the church, the pastor addresses a hoard of parasites. He plays a message by the parasite who had escaped Jun-kyung’s might after the raid at their hideout in the first episode.

In the video, the monster tells everyone that the cops are aware of their existence and Jun-kyung will do anything to end them if they don’t plan soon.

The pastor says that the goal of their kin or the parasites in general is to take over the human brains and eat all mankind.

He mentions the EDM party antics by one of their kin which led to unwanted attention and hampered their secret plan of taking over humans.

The pastor is aware of the cops being in their city. He gives the call for diametric cooperation since the parasites cannot survive without humans.

They must combine all their singular talents to enhance their organization and avoid extermination.

On the other hand, Kang-woo enters the pantry in front of the church. He finds dead bodies wrapped inside plastic bags, hung from the ceiling.

A parasite enters the pantry and starts monitoring the area. A cautious Kang-woo keeps going silently.

Soon, the biggest shock of his life falls upon him as he discovers the body of his little sister, whom he had been looking for all along, wrapped in a plastic bag.

It breaks his emotional balance and he gets angry. Highly agitated, he willingly attacks the monster who had come in.

The loud clamor grabs the attention of the church’s occupants, including the pastor. He orders all the parasites to go and kill Kang-woo.

In the subsequent stampede, Su-in loses the keychain gifted by Chu-min.

Kang-woo tries to run away into the jungle upon sensing imminent danger from the Parasites.

However, Yeongdeungpo guys block his way.

By the time they can understand anything, the parasites attack and kill all of them. Somehow, Kang-woo gets away and is saved by Su-in.

She guides him to the gas station where he is supposed to meet his friend. The Strange Man goes after him, taking the shape of a vampire flying in the sky.

Kang-woo and Su-in find Kyu-min and get inside his car superfast. When the former asks her to call the cops, his friend stops her from doing so.

This is when Kang-woo realizes how the men from Yeongdeungpo found his location. It doesn’t take him long to figure out that Kyu-min was the one who ratted him out.

A quarrel follows between the duo while Su-in continues to try and get rid of her phone. While their fight is on, the Strange Man spots and attacks their vehicle, unaware of Su-in’s presence.

The car loses its balance and strays to the edge of a nearby trench that ends up in the jungle. The parasite inside Su-in takes control of her body and gives a tough fight to the Strange Man.

Kang-woo’s life hangs in the balance as he holds on to the vehicle’s edge along with his friend, who reveals that it was Jong-do who made amends with Yeongdeungpo guys and ordered him to kill Kang-woo.

He dies due to the injuries but tightly clings on to Kang-woo, making it difficult for him to escape.

Su-in engages in a hard-fought battle against the strange man, who flies away to inform the pastor of her crime.

But Su-in’s monstrous powers pull him back and put him to rest forever. The parasite goes back to rest and the girl becomes unconscious.

When she comes back to normal, Su-in does everything possible in her abilities to save Kang-woo from falling down. However, it takes the parasite’s powers to eventually protect him.

In the final frame of Parasyte: The Grey Episode 2, we see Choi Jun-kyung finally coming across Su-in and X’s case from the pile. She connects the dots and comes to the conclusion that Su-in is a Parasite.
