What is Justice (2024) Movie About?

The Netflix film centers on a bank robbery in Poland that results in the deaths of three women. The government recalls a retired cop to solve the case.

He is passionate about finding criminals and struggles to live without a police job.

But the task is to find the culprits in two weeks.

Justice (2024) Movie Ending Explained

In the final minutes of the movie, Kacper understands that his time is up and adjusts his strategy appropriately to stay alive.

Since Gadacz had used his gray technique to get Bartek to confess to the robbery, the young man calls Kacper before going to the police station.

He also dials Gadacz and informs him of his decision. However, before he could reach the station, Kacper tracks him down and murders him.

He attempts to make it appear as if he committed suicide. However, Gadacz is aware that Kacper was responsible for his death.

Later, he goes on to kill Marek as well. This time, he walks into the police station and confesses to the crime.

He says that he murdered Marek in self-defense. Furthermore, he assigns all the blame for the robbery to Marek, referring to it as his plan.

Why Did Kacper Kill Marek?

Marek was filled with disappointment and anger towards Kacper for taking the life of their beloved friend, Bartek. When Kacper told him that he did it for his sister, Marek lost his cool.

He mocked him, asserting that his sister doesn’t desire him and that her life is better without him. Marek then grabbed his gun and shot at Kacper.

However, the rifle was empty. Kacper took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Marek.

It was the comment about his sister that mainly provoked him into killing Marek.

Observing his deception, Gadacz employs his own method of interrogation. He places a gun around his neck, alarming the other police officers, who then attempt to eject him from the interrogation room.

Gadacz himself comes out after a while and tells his coworkers that he knows where the murder weapon might be.

Since there isn’t enough evidence to keep Kacper in custody, the police release him.

Gadacz hurries to the army base and inquires whether anybody had lost their weapon.

He gets together with Henio and the colonel. The young soldier breaks down in tears because he knows his job is in danger.

He says he lost his gun after the swearing-in ceremony but later found it in the bushes next to the tower with some rounds missing.

Gadacz discovers that it was the same gun used in the bank robbery murders.

Kacper becomes a fugitive after the police find out he is the main offender. All the evidence points to him.

A massive search is launched to nab him, but when everything fails, Gadacz steps up and tracks him down to the home of Ewa’s adoptive family.

The senior cop requests permission from the assigned cops to enter the building and peacefully remove Kacper. When he does so, Gadacz finds him playing a puzzle game with his sister.

Kacper requests not to be handcuffed in front of the little girl.

Gadacz agrees to his demand and allows him to walk out alone.

But at Justice’s climax, Kacper exits the house while acting as if he has a gun, prompting the cops to open fire and kill him.

In reality, he was carrying a piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

Later, Janicka instead of Gadacz is rewarded for solving the case.

Why Was Gadacz Not Inducted Back into the Job Despite Solving the Mystery Within a Fortnight?

Well, reasons are many. First of all, the way he interrogated Kacper by putting a gun to his head didn’t go down well with the senior cops.

The second reason is political. The minister who got him reinstated may have lost his own shop due to the changes in the political scenario.

Gadacz returns to his civilian identity as the movie concludes.

He finally shares with Janicka some shades of truth about his personal history, including how he failed as a parent, spouse, and kid.

He abandoned his dying mother because he was too absorbed in his work. Being successful at his job was all that mattered to him; promotions and material possessions never interested him.

In the last scene, we see him dial a phone number. A little girl answers the call from the other side, probably his granddaughter.

Why Did they Rob the Bank?

Well, they robbed it for money. Still, here’s a longer explanation.

Ewa, Kacper’s sister, had finally been adopted by a family just one month before the theft.

Kacper was furious at the care home for allowing this to happen, as he had wanted to take her home with him.

His financial predicament came back to haunt him. Therefore, he planned the bank robbery with the intention of securing Ewa’s custody.

Kacper included his two best friends in the plan.

They both agreed, especially Bartek, who needed the money to pay back loans he had taken out for the video shop.

Why Did They Kill Three Women at the Bank?

At first, the men just wanted to scare the tellers and leave, but when Bartek took Kacper’s name by mistake and one of the women recognized him, he had no choice but to kill them.
