SonyLiv’s latest crime thriller Brinda is drawing support from the audiences. Here’s a blog that will explain the ending of Brinda.

By the end of the seventh episode, Satya’s reality was out in the open with Brinda discovering that he is her brother, Chinni.

Moreover, Srinath suggests Satya to lie low since the cops do not doubt them yet. But Satya knows that with Thakur gone, it won’t take much time for the police to find out about him.

He is adamant to show his own brutality and leave a mark on humanity.

Brinda Ending Explained and Episode 8 Recap

Flashback from the past continues. Satya wakes up on the hospital bed and asks for Raghu straightaway.

The nurse informs him that he had passed away upon admission. Satya gets sad and emotionally volatile.

He tries to run away and it takes some effort from the nurse to keep him at bay.

Satya hesitantly stays at the hospital until full recovery. One day, he comes across news on TV regarding the appearance of divine light on the day of the eclipse and how superstitious people make it an occasion.

An idea strikes his mind and he calls Srinath from the hospital. Satya tells him that even though he tried to change, he now wants to return to the old ways.

Together, they mobilize people and start killing everyone who is either superstitious or believes in God’s will.

Those who have been the victims of blind faith in god at the hands of humans join him and his team gets bigger.

Be it Christianity, Islam, or Hinduism, they don’t spare anyone. The only goal of the gang is to stop those who spread superstition for their own benefit.

Satya is against the discrimination that comes with religion and caste in India. He says not only those promoting the presence of god but also those who believe in him should be punished.

Upon Thakur’s release from jail, Satya involves him in his plan. He uses his already brewing hatred against blind faith in god because of which his life became hell.

It makes it easier for Thakur to believe in Satya’s vision of eliminating the believers from the world.

He makes Thakur commit his first mass killing of pandits without even telling him about the plan.

Which Was Thakur’s First Mass Killing?

Thakur’s first mass killing was that of Brahmin Pandits. He served them poisoned food, leading to their passing away.

However, he himself didn’t know about the food being poisoned. Satya had it all planned. He deliberately didn’t tell Thakur because he wanted him to feel it.

Unless the urge comes from within, it is useless.

Once things are settled and they succeed in more massacres, Satya decides to take the next step. He changes his identity.

How Satya Became Kabir Anand?

During one of the mass murders, he came to know about Kamal Anand, a well-known name.

Satya then came across his son and had an idea. He killed him and assumed his identity. Since Kamal was already paralyzed, he couldn’t do much about it.

The new identity gave him everything, from money and power to an established reputation in society.

Now, he would order Thakur to commit mass murders with nobody doubting him.

The flashback ends with the intro montage playing on the screen.

Having learned about her brother, Brinda is in a state of shock. Though she understands there must be a reason behind Satya’s actions, she cannot allow more killings to happen.

Hence, she quickly gets into action and informs the top officials about him.

The entire police force starts looking for Satya, not knowing he is none other than Anand himself.

On the other hand, Satya mobilizes his people and starts planning his next move.

We can see visuals of his men tinkering with the water supply at someplace. However, nothing is revealed yet.

The cops try hard to find more evidence but fail to achieve success.

Brinda accidentally comes across a kidney donation report and is shocked to find out that a guy named Kabir Anand donated a kidney to Kamal Anand.

The report refers to an unidentified body found in Episode 3. It was identified through a kidney donation report.

Dumbfounded, she calls Sarathi, who reconfirms the report with Vijay. But he tells them that the report is correct; Kabir Anand donated a kidney to Kamal Anand, his father.

Brinda is shocked. She connects the dots and realizes that the real Kabir Anand is dead and Satya has taken his identity.

Although the series doesn’t explicitly make things clear regarding the kidney donation and the time of real Kabir’s death, I have a theory.

How Did the Real Kabir Anand Disappear Without Anyone Noticing?

Doesn’t it sound strange that a prominent figure’s son dies and another guy takes over his identity? It does to me, at least.

So, let’s start from the beginning. Satya kills Kabir Anand in front of his father, who suffers a paralytic stroke in the aftermath.

Before dying, Kabir must have donated his kidney to Kamal Anand. Now, when the cops started searching for cases with unidentified bodies, they came across Kabir’s body.

Its postmortem report stated that the guy had donated his kidney. The cops did a search and were able to identify him.

However, they didn’t give the results much importance and moved ahead with the investigation.

Let’s come back to the question of how Satya was able to fake a prominent person like Kamal Anand’s son’s profile.

So, Kamal Anand and his real son, Kabir, used to live in Delhi. But they relocated to Telangana ten years ago.

Possibly, most of their known relatives were in Delhi. It made it easier for Satya to create a new world around him.

Taking advantage of Kamal Anand’s health condition, he employed his men into Kamal’s empire and removed everybody else.

As strange as it might sound, the series goes like this only.

Brinda rushes to Satya’s house but finds it empty. The once vibrant place doesn’t even have a trace of a human.

She loses all hope and tells Sarathi about her findings. He motivates her and thinks that if Satya and his men are not at the house, it means they must be planning something somewhere.

Brinda remembers that she had bugged Satya’s car with a GPS device when she was following her earlier.

She checks with the same and finds out that Satya is in Gangavaram. They immediately call their seniors and ask if any religious event is planned in the region.

Rama Chandar Rao, the head of the SIT, tells them that every year during the eclipse, it is believed that the Goddess appears as a flame.

To witness the event, people go to the lake nearby. However, the flame appeared only once about 25 years ago, and never afterwards.

But the news channels say that the flame will be seen this year.

Brinda assures the Rao that Satya is definitely there and requests him to send force to Gangavaram.

Just before leaving Satya’s house, Brinda’s eyes catch a painting on the wall, which has two kids holding hands in the middle of the jungle.

She quickly identifies that it is a picture of none other than herself and Satya when they were children.

It is the same scene we saw in the first episode.

Outside Satya’s house, Brinda notices empty barrels with some possibly harmful material spilled near them.

She keeps her concerns down and rushes to Gangavaram with Sarathi. The police force, along with Rao, also reach the place.

A large crowd has gathered at the location. The organizers, who are Satya’s men, announce from the loudspeaker that once the flame is seen, people should enter inside the lake.

If they do so, their prayers will be answered and their bad deeds will be washed away.

The cops try to persuade the crowd to move out of the place but nobody listens to them.

Rao enters the announcement area and removes the person making announcements.

Just when Rao is about to use the mic and make people listen to him, Satya’s men corner him at gunpoint.

In the middle of the chaos, Brinda randomly comes across water pipelines and senses something wrong.

She remembers the containers she saw at Satya’s house. The material spilled around the pipes looks the same as it was back there.

Brinda concludes that something is wrong with the water in the lake. She immediately informs Sarathi about it.

He says the only way to stop the impending catastrophe is by stopping people from entering the pond.

But Brinda comes up with another option, which is to stop the flame from appearing atop the jungle. Let’s first get one thing clear.

Was the Flame of the Goddess Real?

No, it was never real. Even 25 years ago, the flame a monk saw was nothing but the light of the fire spread by Satya in his village.

Since it coincided with the eclipse, he spread it as the flame of the goddess. In India, superstition and fake news spread faster than anything. And in this case, it was a combination of both.

Blind worshippers believed the monk.

Brinda leaves for the jungle while Sarathi and the other cops make it their goal to stop the crowd from entering the lake.

However, Satya’s men provoke the crowd to not let anyone become a hindrance in their path to redemption.

Brinda reaches the jungle and after some search, finds Satya preparing to fire the alleged flame.

Instead of calling him Satya, she calls him Saachi.

But Satya believes she is trying to fool him just like she fooled Thakur. She mentions Raghu’s name and how he shaped both their lives.

However, it still takes some convincing to make Satya believe in her words.

She further tells him that Raghu wanted them to meet and Satya to change. This was the reason why he met him in the first place.

He goes into a state of musing with flashbacks playing inside his head.

Once convinced, Satya walks up to Brinda and gives her the wooden doll he had preserved for all these years for her.

Both get emotional and Brinda makes a sentimental appeal as a sister to stop the massacre at Gangavaram.

Satya says he has suffered a lot due to superstition and people’s blind faith in god. Though he is happy she is alive, things are not that simple anymore.

Brinda talks about the path of good shown by Raghu but Satya, filled with past trauma, doesn’t budge.

He readies himself to light the baton. But before he can, Brinda points her gun at him. Satya asks her if she can shoot her brother while torching the wooden stick.

Once done, he burns the kerosene-powered circle around them.

Brinda gives him a last warning saying she doesn’t know the answers to his questions about god but for her, Raghu was god because he helped them believe in good things.

Neither one should hurt others in the name of god nor one should kill people for believing in god is what Brinda believes.

She fires two shots at Satya and he falls to the ground.

Then she quickly destroys the arrangement made by him, where a container with kerosene is kept atop a wooden structure so people could be fooled into believing it to be the Goddesses’ flame.

With only a few moments of life left in him, Satya hands over the wooden doll from their childhood to Brinda.

The series ends.

What Was Satya’s Plan for Gangavaram?

In childhood, Satya’s mother was killed because a monk told the villagers that the Goddess needs a sacrifice. Only then would she shower fortune on the village.

Upon offering a girl child, the goddess will get happy and hence, her flame will appear in the night sky on the day of the eclipse.

In reality, it was just superstition. Satya used the same superstition to fool the believers again. He decided to light a fire in a container in the jungle during the eclipse.

On the other hand, his men were tasked with making sure people took a dip inside the lake/pond to wash their misdeeds away just when the flame appeared in the night sky.

Blind followers of god believed them and were ready to walk inside the water, which was contaminated with a fatal substance by Satya.

If they had entered the lake, everyone would have died.
