This is the Episode 2 recap of Hotstar’s Hindi series, Bad Cop. It is a weekly release, and I will update the recaps as and when the episodes come out.

In the first episode, we saw Arjun and Karan getting injured and falling into the river. The cops take out Arjun safely, thinking that he is Karan.

It is not known what happened to the real Karan.

Arjun is taken to the hospital with Devika by her side.

Bad Cop Hotstar Series Episode 2 Recap

The doctor informs Devika that Karan (who is Arjun in reality) was hit on the shoulder and he is out of danger. However, he advises him to rest.

She is about to get angry with him in the ward but their daughter stops her and so does the doctor.

Arjun continuously keeps saying that he has to go to Bhaucha Dhakka and that someone else was also shot.

Devika confuses that ‘someone else’ with Raahil when, in reality, Arjun is talking about Karan.

The intro stamp plays out and we are again shown tuskers laying out the elephants’ body parts, including skin, tusks, nails, etc.

However, nothing more is revealed about the poaching angle.

Kazbe lashes out at his nephew after the news of Karan’s survival reaches him. He curses him with harsh words and denies him another chance.

Instead, Kazbe asks a sidekick to call someone named “Bala” to finish the job.

His nephew is told to focus on the consignment.

But he gets offended and before the sidekick could call Bala, he threatens him to stop and decides to take matters into his own hands, disobeying Kazbe’s orders.

Arif digs deep into Arjun’s history. He finds out that Karan and Arjun are brothers.

While the former is a cop, the latter is a small-time thief. However, he has never been involved in anything big.

The cops put both Arjun and Shreya’s phones on the radar. Arif decides to meet Karan and question him but he is stopped by the commissioner, who asks him to hand over the case to someone else.

But Khan denies his orders and puts his career on the line by saying he will resign if someone else gets the case.

This is because Anand Mishra was his close friend, and he wants to see to it that his killer gets the harshest punishment.

The commissioner allows him to proceed while keeping the protocols in mind.

Upon discharge, Devika brings Arjun home, assuming that he is Karan.

But he has a hard time pretending to be a regular at the house. Devika requests him to refrain from fighting with her to ensure their daughter’s well-being.

She mentions their previous fight was regarding divorce and that she wants there to be peace for some time. Arjun agrees.

Secondly, she asks the reason behind his visit to Bhaucha Dhakka. Devika feels the higher-ups in the police department would soon ask the same question.

It is better if he lets his wife know about the reason so she can try and control the matter. But Arjun stays mum.

Arjun secretly calls Shreya and cries his heart out while telling her that his brother has died.

Shreya consoles him and suggests he leave as soon as possible before the cops come to question him.

Moreover, Arjun also feels that Devika will, sooner or later, catch his bluff.

He asks her to arrange for a boat so they can escape to Gujarat.

On the other hand, the police commissioner calls Devika and tells her that Arjun is involved in the murder of Anand Mishra and that the CIB wants to question him.

Devika rushes to ask Arjun (not real) if he has had any contact with Arjun (real).

Arjun replies saying he has not talked to him for the past two years.

When Devika says he is on the run after committing a murder, Arjun comes up with a surprising answer.

He says, if Arjun has done something wrong, he will pay for it.

This is shocking for Devika because Karan always tries to defend his brother and never agrees with his wife.

She further warns him that if he tries to help Arjun, it might cost them their careers.

Later in the evening, before leaving to meet Shreya, Arjun writes the truth in a letter to Devika.

He puts it on the table near her room.

En route in a taxi, Shreya doesn’t approve of his decision to leave a letter with truth bombs.

An argument breaks out between the two and ends only when the taxi is bombarded with bullets.

Kazbe’s nephew has attacked the vehicle with full force. His men shoot the taxi with utter disregard in an attempt to finish Arjun, who they think is Karan.

During the fight, one of the bike-borne men enters the taxi and tries to force Arjun out.

In the process, he angrily tells him, “Kazbe will not spare you.”

After a fierce battle, Arjun manages to get past them, leaving Kazbe’s nephew grievously injured.

They finally reach the shore where a boat is ready to pick them up. However, Arjun doesn’t get in.

He wants revenge as he now knows Kazbe is the man behind Karan’s death.

His decision, once again, doesn’t sit well with Shreya.

She reminds him that Karan also left him alone at the orphanage when they were kids. He also needs to swallow the hard pill and do the same.

The Flashback

We are shown a flashback of their past, which states that Karan and Arjun wanted to be adopted together by the same family.

However, due to the latter’s regular misdeeds, no one was ready to take him.

Eventually, Karan was adopted by a family and Arjun was left alone at the orphanage.

Arjun decides to stay back and nab his brother’s killer.

He tells Shreya that Karan always stood by him and now it is his turn to payback.

As a fake cop, he can find out who is behind all this.

Shreya reminds him of the letter and Arjun rushes back home in the taxi to somehow manage to keep Devika away from the piece of paper he has left behind.

He doesn’t even care about Shreya, who is stranded on the boat.

Alternatively, we see Devika waking up to fetch water for her daughter.

Once done, she looks out for Arjun but fails to find him.

Her eyes fall on the letter but before she can open it, Arjun enters the house.

She asks him whether he had gone to meet Arjun (the real one). The latter is dumbfounded and stays mum.

Their doorbell rings with Arif Khan waiting to question Arjun, who everybody thinks is Karan.
