Poland and its love for romcoms is well known. How many such films hit the right chord is a question to ponder upon.
No Pressure is a new romantic comedy, now streaming on Netflix.
The Polish flick is a bit under two hours and promises to be a charming, quirky, and heartfelt creation.
Does it deliver?
No Pressure Synopsis

What Works for No Pressure?
The pathway to love can have n number of possibilities. In No Pressure, makers create one of those situations you can smell from afar.
But that doesn’t make the movie bad. It only generates your interest.
Oliwia, a star chef, receives an unexpected phone call informing her about the demise of her grandmother. She immediately rushes to her hometown only to face a canon filled with surprises. Love, longing, and a whole lot of drama await Oliwia at her grandmother’s farm.
No Pressure Plot Summary
It is an affable story with very little fuss about flashy aspects. The small-town setting works in favor of No Pressure.
You have a heartwarming ambiance working in tandem with brewing romance. The non-pretentiousness of two people falling in love gives No Pressure an edge.
Additionally, the sweet touch of neighborly bonhomie leaves a delightful impact on the narrative.
Thankfully, the movie doesn’t overdo romance at any point in time. It remains true to its promised nature of warmth.
The film’s quiet, endearing, and simple attitude allows for a heartfelt ambiance to set in.
Furthermore, the background score is also very gentle, quietly doing its work.
You may not fall in love with the film, but you’ll definitely make a place for it inside your heart.
How are the Performances?
Anna Szymanczyk as Oliwia keeps it simple. She doesn’t deny herself the chance to flow with the plot.
The actress weaves her expressions intricately, effortlessly portraying an authentic, uncomplicated individual.

What I essentially liked in her performance was her way of dealing with the idea’s inherent flaws. Anna drives the story while keeping the soul intact.
Mateusz Janicki plays Kuba in No Pressure. He aces a responsible demeanor and works as a guide for others.
He never lets individual prowess get ahead of a team effort. The restrained act, the humor appeal, and the bright, unforced propulsion help him win over the audience.
What Doesn’t Work for No Pressure?
The concept offers nothing new. We have seen numerous such themes already in the world of cinema. Though No Pressure is consumable, it is not fresh.
The bigger problem for the movie is its highly straightforward narrative.
Yes, heartwarming creations require simple tales but the quirkiness is missing from the sequential narrative.
Secondly, the comedy department is a bit laggy. There aren’t any significant fun sequences, which is a setback for this Polish romcom.
The makers don’t make too many attempts at humorous jokes. They rely on natural humor and, sadly, it doesn’t pay off as well as they would have liked.
Lastly, No Pressure doesn’t have a compact delivery. It might appear to be an authentic depiction, but the movie is not naturally enchanting.
You have to put efforts to make it happen.
Stream or Skip?
Surely, it is a watchable movie but hold your expectations a bit. It isn’t strong enough to impress you entirely.
