Korea’s latest superhero offering, Cashero, is streaming on Netflix. It has eight episodes and revolves around its main character’s superpower, rooted in physical Cash.

At the end of the seventh episode, Sang-ung reaches Beomha Logistics to rescue Min-suk. He jumps off the roof, and that’s where the episode ends.

What happens afterwards is reproduced below.

Cashero Series Ending Explained and Episode 8 Recap

Bun-Mi and Byeon Ho-in, who were earlier reluctant about Sang-ung’s plan, disguise themselves and arrive at Beomha Logistics to help him.

But the real question you might be having is, why did Kang Sang jump from the roof? Well, he did that to avoid getting caught by the security.

So, after he jumped, not only did he land inside like a Jetpack, he also got his power back, apparently, due to his belief.

Inside, Jo-Nathan’s men attack him from all fronts. However, Kang ably handles them with a bundle of cash.

When Jo-Nathan gets to know about his arrival, he directs his men to go with the plan of barraging him with attacks from all sides.

Kang realizes that he doesn’t have enough cash to go past them. That’s when Bun-Mi and Byeon Ho-in come to his rescue.

They take care of the goons while Kang goes to the upper floor to save Min-suk from the clutches of Jo-Nathan.

Nathan shoots him in the chest to check if he has any money left. Kang-Sang doesn’t heal, giving his enemies an upper hand.

Jo-Nathan makes an offer. He will let them go unharmed if he agrees to transfer his powers to him. Otherwise, he will put Min-suk in the nearby elevator that contains explosives.

Putting a gun to Min-suk’s head, he expects a positive answer from her husband, who finds himself in a tough spot.

Out of nowhere, Byeon Ho-in enters the arena through the roof, using his powers, while Bun-Mi arrives from behind the men safeguarding Jo-Nathan.

He holds him by the neck and asks Bun-Mi to throw a wallet filled with cash towards Kang-Sang. She obliges, but her aim is off the mark.

Sangu-ung tries to get the wallet when Jo-Nathan shoots the attorney, who had gotten into a scuffle with him.

He then aims the gun at Min-suk again and is about to shoot her as well when Kang-Sang rushes forward and saves her life.

Not only that, but he also pushes Jo-Nathan and gets into the elevator with him, where the explosives are kept.

A surprised Min-suk begs him to come out, but Kang has decided to take the final call.

He takes the elevator to a different floor. Jo-Nathan aims the gun at him.

Sang-ung holds the detonator in his hand and tells him that it wasn’t the cash that gave him strength, but his heart.

Within the next second, Sang-ung blows up the elevator, killing Jo-Nathan and himself as a result.

A wave of shock and sadness travels through the hearts of Min-suk, Bun-Mi, and Byeon Ho-in.

The screen turns black, and we see news reports about the side effects of Beomha Group’s new drug, “Spec-up.”

Admitted into the hospital, Byeon Ho-in has a conversation with Bun-Mi, highlighting how Sang-ung’s sacrifice might wake up some people and stop them from being impartial, hideously referring to the cop with superpowers.

They later pay a visit to a grieving Min-suk. Byeon Ho-in tells her that even though Sang-ung is dead, he can still be saved, and only she can do it.

He gives her Detective Hwang Hyeon-Seung’s card and asks her to visit. Why? Because the detective’s superpower, unrevealed thus far in the show, is that he can turn back time.

Min-suk rushes to the Police Station in the hope of bringing her husband back. However, she soon finds out that she is not the only one looking for him.

Jo-Ana’s men are already in the station seeking the detective. They confront her and aim a gun at her head. However, Hermes also arrives at the scene using her acquired superpower.

She also wants to get hold of Hwang Hyeon-Seung to bring back Jo-Nathan. Since their goal is the same, she directs Min-suk to find the detective while she handles Jo-Ana’s men.

Min-suk finds Hyeon-Seung and makes a request. However, the latter shows no interest. Interfering with time is not the correct thing to do, according to him.

Though he tries to hold his ground, Min-suk convinces him eventually by highlighting how Kang-Sang has always tried to save the world, and when he is in need, it is high time the detective stepped up.

Hyeon-Seung takes out his wristwatch and hands it over to her. He says that whoever goes back in time to use the power loses out on some of their life expectancy.

Moreover, once all of it is over, she won’t remember this particular phase, and her memory will be reset.

Additionally, she only has one minute to finish the task.

Min-suk runs back in time and reaches the point where Kang Sang and Jo-Nathan are sitting inside the elevator.

She forcefully opens the elevator door and sneaks a bundle of cash into his hands so that when the time resumes, he has enough power to get out of the blast alive.

One minute ends, and the blast happens again. This time, thanks to the cash, Sang-ung doesn’t die. He walks out of the rubble and hugs Min-suk.

The cops arrive at the place, led by Hwang Hyeon-Seung. He smiles and doesn’t let his peers arrest Kang Sang.

Before leaving, Sang-ung notices that Jo-Nathan is not there, concluding that he must have survived the blast, too.

In the next scene, we see an injured Jo-Nathan going on a killing spree at the entrance of his father’s house.

Inside, his father, Jo Won-Do, sitting on the sofa, surrounded by his henchmen with their guns aimed at Jo-Nathan, taunts him for coming back to die before leaving him in the hands of Jo-Anna.

She fires at him, but Hermes uses her superpower to reverse the bullet, which then kills Jo-Anna.

Jo-Nathan then starts calling his father’s name in the buildup to murdering him. However, Jeong-ja sneaks in and kidnaps him from the back door with the intent to recover his old debt.

When did Jo Won-Do take a debt from Jeong-ja? How was Jeong-ja related to Jo Won-Do?

From what I have understood, Jo Won-Do didn’t take the loan. It was his father or forefathers who loaned money from Jeong-ja’s ancestors and never paid it back.

Soon after, Nathan’s condition deteriorates further due to the injuries he had sustained earlier.

Hermes takes him to the lab, where he insists that she inject all the vials of superpowers inside his brain. She hesitantly agrees, and the process begins.

Once done, Jo-Nathan turns into a beast, full of power. He instantly twists Hermes’ neck and kills her with a devil smile.

Why did Jo-Nathan kill Hermes?

While Hermes was visibly in love with Jo-Nathan, the latter only cared about money and his mission. He used Hermes’ power and medical abilities until he was a normal human.

The minute he got superpowers, injected with the help of Hermes herself, he didn’t even take a minute to show his entitled attitude.

Bun-Mi, Kang Sang, and Byeon Ho-in reach the lab, but Nathan has left by then.

They notice dead bodies of captive superpower holders at the site and later comprehend that Nathan has gone on a rampage upon injecting himself with a huge load of powers.

Subsequently, Jo-Nathan calls Sang-ung and invites him to a final battle in a residential society where he has already gone bonkers with people running for their lives amid the hooliganism perpetrated by Nathan.

With Sang-ung’s entry, it turns into a battle between good and evil. After every punch, attack, and fallout, Kang tries to convince Nathan that a normal life is better than one with superpowers.

However, he pays no heed and continues the destruction. Both of them mostly stay at par before Sang-ung runs out of cash.

Since Nathan doesn’t have to rely on anything for his injected powers, he doesn’t get tired.

He is about to finish the ‘Cashero’ when money starts raining, with people throwing cash down in support of Kang Sang.

They want him to end Jo-Nathan once and for all. Even the cops who have arrived at the scene throw whatever they have.

Complying with the abundant support, Sang-ung lands the final blow on Jo-Nathan, resulting in the victory of good over evil.

The screen turns black, then resumes, with the media hounding Jo Won-Do for corruption and questioning him about it.

What happens to the characters or Superheroes in Cashero Ending?

Hwang Hyeon-Seung: Stops using his old watch that had superpowers, probably because he doesn’t want to use his powers again. Another reason could be that he could use the power only once, and now that he had given the watch to Min-suk, he couldn’t use it again.

Bun-Mi: She goes to meet Lee Hwa-Jin, who has now started her own café and named it ‘Bun and Mi.’ I get a feeling that both of them are in love and will probably have a future together.

Byeon Ho-in: Meets his daughter after ages. She takes a dig at his drinking habit, but also knows about his superpower.

Kang Sang-ung: Finally buys a new apartment with his wife, Min-Suk, who surprises him with pregnancy news. The couple envisions a happy life ahead, and the series comes to an end.

Now, some prominent questions one might have from the storyline.

Why did Hermes let Min-suk go back in time instead of going herself?

Well, it is one of those brain-fade moments from Cashero’s writers. They just wanted to bring Kang-sung from the dead without thinking about logic.

Jo-Nathan was Kang-sung’s biggest enemy, and Hermes was his partner in crime. She could have simply stolen the watch from the detective and gone back in time to save Nathan.

Instead, she gives Min-suk the chance to do the same.

The only justification for this is that Hyeon-Seung’s superpower could only be used with his consent. Unless he handed over his watch voluntarily, it wouldn’t work.

And he wouldn’t have given it to Hermes at any cost.

But again, if the superpower was voluntarily transferable only, why were Jo-Ana’s men after the detective?

How did Jo-Nathan survive the blast?

How could Jo-Nathan possibly survive such a deadly blast? Kang-sung had cash in his hands, so the impact of the explosion was minimal on him. But Nathan? Why didn’t he die?

I am clueless as to how Hermes saved Jo-Nathan when only Min-suk went into the past for a minute?

These are some of the questions makers of Cashero fail to answer.

What was Mundane Vanguard’s goal in Cashero?

They were using the blood cells of superheroes to conduct experiments on ordinary citizens, trying to assess potential effects on normal humans.
